Reviews for Pocahontas Pancake House
We enjoyed our breakfast. I got the French toast with butter, whipped cream, powdered sugar and little cinnamon. I loved it , but it had a weird taste to it almost like the bread was bad or egg. I ended up paying for it all day, lingering stomach pains. My husband got the Oreo waffle that was pretty awesome. There was no wait, service was quick our waiter was amazing. We ordered a side of sausage and bacon. The bacon tasted off, gladly they took that off the bill. The sausage tasted like frozen microwave sausage. Which was fine, but not what we were expecting. The atmosphere was great the staff was great, definitely worth coming back again.
Pocahontas Pancake House is my new favorite breakfast place. The food is amazing and the coffee is flavorful. When we arrived the place was packed. They closed in just 45 minutes after our arrival and there was still a line out the door. They gave us a pager and said it would be about 15 minutes but in reality it only took about 1 minute. Our waitress, Kelly, was great and she was Jonny on the spot with water and coffee. The French Toast and Nutella Waffle were both the best of their kind that either of us had ever had. The atmosphere is neat, featuring "Lost Colony" style artwork on the walls and Native American themed art on the tabletops and throughout the restaurant. It seems like it should be in obx or something except we all know you're not allowed to put a good restaurant on the outer banks by decree of city council I assume. But the art definitely makes you think of Manteo or something. Anyway, I hope that was 200 words. I'll definitely be back to eat at this place regularly in
The food is solid, basic diner brunch. Nothing amazing but it was all pretty good! They do have a lot of gluten free options which I always appreciate. The waffle was good and came out marked with a toothpick. They also had gluten free pancakes, toast, and bagels. It is always crowded, being a brunch place in a vacation hub, but they move people through pretty fast. The theme is weird and seems like it’d be canceled on Twitter.
