Red Hot and Blue Fairfax

Excellent BBQ and a wide variety of BBQ sauces and sides. You can get your ribs rubbed, tangy or sweet. Sides are generously sized and the garden salad is very large for a side salad. We have been coming here for years for the food, but the place is nicely decorated with a Memphis blues/jazz theme. Biggest issue is getting into and out of the parking lot. It is a tight fit, so if you have options, don't bring that big pickup. Highly recommend.

Food was good to go, restaurant was clean, service was a little to be desired. Waitress took food order but never came back to check on us. Had to go find someone to ask for BBQ sauces. Had separate checks, original party of 8. Only two separate checks were made, however both checks were charged for the automatic tip for a large party. How are checks going to divided, yet you charge the party tip included. With bad service, you walked away with a built in tip, you really did not deserve. Well, if there is a next time, I know not to bring a lot of people.

Unfortunately not nearly as good as it used to be. The place felt very run down and the entrance had a bit of a weird smell. I had the Texas Brisket sandwich, but the brisket was quite dry and not very flavorful - I ended up drowning it in BBQ sauce to salvage it a bit. The place still has potential, as it used to be really good back in the day. Hoping that it's just post-COVID issues and that they will be able to reclaim their former glory in the future.
