Meat & Potatoes

Service and staff are wonderful. The Mac n cheese and carpaccio were decent, but nothing to write about. However!! I got the beef Wellington and wow it blew me out of the water!! Easily as good as Gordon Ramsay’s from Hell’s Kitchen that I had.

Nestled inside a theater and cramped, this is a bit of a throwback restaurant. The name gives a good indication of what they specialize in. If you want creativity, look elsewhere. On the other hand, they do a good job within their limits. Very pricey for what you are getting though.

Definitely worth a stop (or reservation because this place STAYS packed) if you're in the mood to try some new and old dishes. Finally got a Beef Wellington in Pittsburgh that was excellently executed with carrots on the side to die for! The filet was melt-in-your-mouth delectable and the pastry was baked and finished perfectly. We also got the rolls and bone marrow for starters. The jam with the rolls was a total surprise and complimented the bread very well. The bone marrow was like butter and that alone will be a reason to revisit this restaurant. Andrew was an exceptional part of the wait staff and made our anniversary experience even better. Also recommend the coconut cream cake! Yummy! Excellent food, excellent service and an excellent time. Just stay away from the Old Smokey drink... It's literal gasoline! Parking: Weekend rate is $17 but it's only about 2 blocks down the street.
