Rick's Café Boatyard

Rick’s Cafe Boatyard has been on our list of date-night restaurants to check out for a long time. We finally made it and we’re happy we did. Even with some construction work happening, the atmosphere was nice. They had several gluten-free options for us to choose from. We chose bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp tacos (see the photos), and it was all delicious. Our server was great… very attentive, friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed Rick's Boatyard. Just our first visit. We ate outside undercover of a light rain. Very good food and service. The price was much more reasonable than I thought. We will go back again. Parking: Rick's can be very busy, so the parking is tight and lot is mostly full. You may have to make a couple laps. Worth it though.

The food was great. The service was good. The atmosphere is amazing....we sat overlooking the water. The mix drinks were delicious. The prices were good. When Rick Albrecht moved to Indianapolis from Louisville in the 1970s, he was an insurance salesman who had previously been enlisted in the United States Navy. Rick would quickly become a well-known restaurateur, owning several bars and eateries in the greater Indianapolis area, including downtown, Geist, Keystone, and eventually Eagle Creek.
